My Journey With Health And Fitness – The End Of Week 2

Well, plans today have certainly changed. We were going to go into town to do some shopping and have lunch but we are still dealing with a leak in our utility closet. We know it is coming from one of the units above us but we had no idea what we could do to fix it. Fortunately we contacted our builder and he immediately sent a worker over who seems to have located the problem because the leak has stopped. So now I am getting everything done that I had planned to do tomorrow so I will have the day open and can then go into town.

Today is the end of week 2 at the condo and I am pretty proud of what I have been able to do. My goal is 6 days a week to do a 1 hour Zumba online course and then a 1 hour walk. Along with that, 5 days a week I want to do strength training. So far I have managed, with the exception of 1 day, to accomplish all of that (and even that day when I had tummy troubles I still got in the Zumba class). This week I even managed to go even further with 3 days replacing the walk with a 5k run. I should note that I don’t actually take a day off it’s just Sundays I give myself a bit of a break by skipping Zumba and just doing a run.

So what is motivating me to keep this up while I am in Playa? Well to start with I have met my goal of being comfortable in a 2 piece bathing suit. I worked hard over the last several months to lose weight and once again improve my fitness so I refuse to allow myself to backslide and have to work hard at it again. Don’t get me wrong, when I get back home in 3 weeks I’ll be going back to working out 5 hours a day until I reach my goal weight which I am confident will be before the holiday season starts. Secondly, all my clothes here at the condo now fit again which is always a good feeling. I could get away with wearing them when we were here in May but really only the ones that had a lot of play in them Now, everything fits comfortably.

I do admit that I am eating more than I had been but I hope I have been successful each day to burn at least the calories I have taken in. I know on some days that I have burned more than I ate and drank. My overall goal is to not put on any weight during this 5 week trip but if that does happen I know with more diligence (which is easier at home) that I will be successful in working the weight off.

Sadly only 3 weeks left on this trip but I am determined to keep going and not slack off.
