My Journey With Health And Fitness – A Better Device

I got up this morning and really didn’t feel like going for a walk. I literally had to force myself out of bed and I was doing the great debate in my head as to whether I really needed to do some sort of workout today. This was not helped by the fact that there was a chance of rain and I didn’t feel like getting wet. I finally decided to meet myself in the middle and go for a 5km walk instead of the normal 10km. Got the walk done and felt better for doing it.

I’m really not talking about health and fitness today except in terms of my mental health given that I bought something that makes me happy. Several months ago my husband found out he was going to receive a small inheritance from an aunt. It was kind of odd because the aunt passed in 2009 and he had received money from the estate. It turns out the aunt had an account that no one knew about so it wasn’t included in the estate. My husband and I at the time decided to set our expectations low and just hope that it would be enough to replace one of our older devices.

About 7 weeks ago he met virtually with the lawyer (who is in Scotland so the meeting was at 6am our time) who told him the amount of the inheritance. Is it massive? No, but it is more than what we had hoped. We decided at that point we would wait until the funds were in our bank account before doing any shopping. The lawyer advised the funds would be deposited in 2 weeks but we are 7 weeks out and still nothing. Where things got a bit complicated is the fact that tariffs are being imposed as of Sep 8th which will be driving up prices so we decided to bite the bullet and go shopping.

And so today we each picked up our new iPad Airs with 13” screens, more memory, Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. To be honest our old iPads are at least 10 years old and are really starting to show their age. As I type this I am using my new iPads and it is working great. It also means that I will easily be able to post while I am at the trailer because I have a proper keyboard.

Yep, this purchase does make me feel good and I am excited to get to know my new device. Ok, really I am excited because it is shiny and pretty but hey, the previous statement sounds a little better.
