My Journey With Health And Fitness – Time For A Getaway
Wow, I can’t believe how much the weather is changing over the next several days. It is about to get cool and wet. I guess I should look at it in terms of the fact that we really do need the rain not so much for the lawns but ever.ything here is so dry. I noted yesterday event the trees are dropping their leaves because they are so dry. Hopefully after a few days of rain things will be a little more green.
Tomorrow my sister and I are heading to our trailer at Hatzic Lake (my husband went today to get everything set up). Labour Day weekend at the resort where we have our trailer is kind of the end of the season. There are all sorts of fun activities that will go on including 50/50 draws, raffles, bingo, all the corn you can eat, kid races, etc. We’ve been going to these events ever since we bought our property at the lake which was nearly 25 years ago.
I sit here and think about the fact it was usually me, my husband, my Mom, my sister, my brother and tons of friends that would come by for the big events on Sunday. Now we no longer have my Mom or brother and the kids that used to join us are all grown up. Last year we didn’t even make it there because my sister and I were on a cruise. This year I think it is the perfect time for a getaway.
We’re going to spend the next several days doing some fun things. I am going to smoke some ribs and a brisket. I’m particularly looking forward to the brisket because the first one we did turned out so good. My sister and I will amuse ourselves by playing crib on the big crib table I bought for us. I’m sure the 3 of use will be playing some cut throat dominoes. And, there will be a toast to both my Mom and brother as some of both of them are in that lake. We are hoping some good friends will be joining us on Suday so that it is like old times.
With life so busy right now I think it is the perfect time for a getaway. Here’s hoping we all return home next Monday nice and relaxed.
