My Journey With Health And Fitness – It’s Panic Time
I went in to get a fill on my nails along with a pedicure this morning. While the tech was doing the pedicure she asked what happened to my big toe as the top 1/3 of the nail was black. Then, that part of the nail fell off. She panicked and I explained it is runner’s toe. This is not the 1st time this has happened and I am sure it won’t be the last.
So, about 36 hours until we leave for Playa del Carmen. Normally we have a plan the 2 days before we leave so that we make sure we get everything done. However, things have kind of tanked. At this point it should be cleaning the house, cleaning litter boxes, prepping in case a bad storm hits, etc. The problem is these are all my husband’s tasks as I continue to workout and do volunteer work. But, not happening this trip.
While at our trailer he noted that his back was bothering him a bit. We packed up everything yesterday which included a couple hefty coolers. Of course when we got home it meant unloading those coolers into the house. By the end of it he had serious muscle pain in his back which is even worse today. That means no lifting, vacuuming, carrying, toting suitcases and on and on. Somehow this is not all left to me.
And so, I scaled back the workouts to only 3 hours today and will do the same tomorrow. I also sent regrets that I won’t attend a meeting tomorrow for one of my volunteer organizations. I will then clean the basement and empty all the litterboxes. It is then set up the garage in case an atmospheric river happens while we are away (we seal the garage door with pool noodles). After that I have to finalize packing. Then some adminstrative work such as arranging for the gas appliances to be serviced. All of this needs to be completed by tomorrow afternoon when I also have to hand off work on the local election campaign. Arrrrgggg!
Ok, deep breath as I know I have got this. I have my list of priorities and everything that needs to be completed before we leave. All I need to do is plan it all out and it will get done. Having said that, still in panic mode.
